Housework can be perceived in different ways. While some see it as a real chore to be put off indefinitely, others see it as a moment of uninterrupted pleasure. In any case, it’s important to remember that cleaning your home is essential for living in a clean, healthy and comfortable environment.
If you’re a fan of express cleaning every day to avoid a long session every weekend, you’ll definitely appreciate our tips below.
Is it possible to clean in 15 minutes?
The answer is: yes. All you have to do is spend 15 minutes a day in one room.
The lounge
The living room is a living space that needs to be cleaned several times a week to keep it pleasant to live in. So, before settling down to watch TV, take care to collect all the things that don’t belong there and put them elsewhere.
Then, dust the furniture and pat the cushions, put away the coffee table and dust the other furniture. While you’re tidying up, take a microfiber cloth and wipe down the furniture. Don’t forget the window cleaner for surfaces that need it.
Complete the cleaning by sweeping up the dust on the floor or vacuuming and you’ll have a spotless living room!
Note that the 15-minute cleaning session is the ideal time to open the windows wide to air the room. Don’t underestimate the importance of airing your home for the health of its occupants.
Washrooms
Ideally, the bathroom should be cleaned after everyone has left in the morning, so that everything is clean and dry for the rest of the day. Before getting into the shower or bathtub, scrub everything with a cleaning product and a sponge. Don’t forget to clean mirrors and toilet bowls. To prevent limescale build-up in the toilet bowl, leave the toilet cleaning gel on for a few minutes.
Take advantage of your shower to rinse the bathtub or shower tray, then finish off with mopping the floor with a clean cloth. If the washroom is really dirty, be sure to sweep it first, to avoid smearing the dirt with the mop later.
Finally, flush the toilet after carefully lowering the lid.
The bedroom
Start by making the bed every morning as soon as you wake up. Change the sheets when they’re dirty. Next, set up a bin in which you can store all the things that are lying around and making a mess in the bedroom. Once you’ve got everything in one place, dust the furniture and tidy up the bedside Bedside table. Close wardrobe doors and drawers so that clothes don’t spill out, even if they’re not properly folded (folding is reserved for weekends). Finish with a good sweep.
One tip to remember for keeping a clean and tidy bedroom is to provide storage units or a bin in which you can easily store any loose items. All you have to do then is check the contents regularly, and put away the things you’ve put aside in the right place in your spare time. And don’t forget to put a broom in each room, so that everyone can sweep up every morning.
As soon as they’re old enough, teach them to spend 15 minutes tidying and cleaning their rooms every morning or evening before going to bed.
The kitchen
To tidy up the kitchen quickly, you need to provide storage space for all the utensils in the kitchen. For example, make sure that plates are put away immediately after washing up, and store cans and jars on a shelf.
Once the worktop is free of clutter, clean it with a damp sponge and a few drops of dishwashing detergent. Rinse well, then dry with a clean microfiber cloth to prevent mould. Be careful not to let water stagnate in the sink, to avoid dampness problems and the proliferation of bacteria.
Then sweep and mop the floor. Finish off the kitchen by emptying the trash can.
