Sodium percarbonate
Sodium percarbonate is the best product for removing organic stains such as blood, grease, mud, etc. It’s also known as soda crystals, and you can find it at your local supermarket.
It is advisable, however, to use soda crystals with caution, as they are particularly scouring and can cause skin irritation.
If your beautiful white linen is stained, you can soak it in a small bowl of water into which you’ve poured and mixed a tablespoon of soda crystals. Leave for 30 minutes, then discard the mixture and rinse with clean water.
Keep soda crystals away from children.
Hydrogen peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is also an effective stain remover, thanks to its high peroxidase content. It is particularly effective on yellow stains on white or light-coloured linen. To remove a stain, simply pour equal quantities of hydrogen peroxide and clean water into a basin and soak your laundry for 30 minutes.
If it’s a perspiration stain on white clothing, make a mixture of dishwashing liquid and hydrogen peroxide and rub it in. Then rinse with cold water.
Last but not least, hydrogen peroxide can also be mixed with rinse water to restore the shine to woollen linen.
Take care to use the mixture immediately, as it will tend to lose its effectiveness.
Bleach
Bleach is perfect removing stains immediately from white linen. It is not recommended for colored laundry, as it has a stripping effect!
In addition , bleach can also turn white garments yellow if contact lasts too long. The best way to take advantage of bleach’s stain-removing power is to dilute it in plenty of cold water.
Then rinse with cold water and wash with your usual detergent.
Bleach is effective on fruit, tea, coffee and herb stains.
