SOMAPRO is a Malagasy company producing hygiene, maintenance, well-being and beauty products in Madagascar. A company, by Malagasy people, producing Vita Malagasy products, for Malagasy people. As an industry, any accident might occur in the workplace. SOMAPRO has implemented procedure, working methods and equipment to minimize these risks. Nevertheless, it is always risky. That’s why SOMAPRO has decided that the employees should be trained in first aid.
FIRST AID: A MUST FOR EVERY INDUSTRY
First aid is defined as all the practical methods and therapeutic techniques used to assist people in danger. The aim of this training course was to provide the theoretical and practical underpinnings needed to ensure the correct and fastest possible safety (including hygiene).
The first aid needed to save the lives of both conscious and unconscious accident victims. But also the management of minor accidents, not necessarily requiring the intervention of external emergency services.
SOMAPRO AND THE OSTIE (INTER-COMPANY HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATION OF ANTANANARIVO)
Like many other companies, SOMAPRO, a benchmark in hygiene, maintenance, well-being and beauty products, is affiliated with OSTIE. So, during our search for first-aid training, we contacted the OSTIE.
Therefore, the OSTIE provided for first-aid training. A team of trainers was sent to SOMAPRO headquarters to train our employees. In the end, the trainee had to take a test, which they passed with flying colors. Then, they were given a certificate.
